FULL STORY:  There’s something that almost EVERYONE will experience over the holidays . . . other than the BOUNDLESS JOY of spending so much time with extended family. Receiving a gift that . . . isn’t great.

A new survey asked people for their go-to responses when they receive something that they don’t like.  Here are the top 10 things people say:

1.  “Thank you for thinking of me” . . . 27% usually say something like that.

2.  “I love it” . . . 23%.

3.  “I really appreciate this” . . . 21%.

4.  “You shouldn’t have!” . . . 14%.

5.  “What a thoughtful present” . . . 13%.

6.  “What a great present” . . . 12%.

7.  “You’re too kind” . . . 11%.

8.  “It’s the thought that counts” . . . 10%.

9.  “It’s so unique!” . . . 9%.

10.  “Where did you get this?” . . . 8%.

The survey found that avoiding eye contact is the clearest sign of gift dissatisfaction, followed by putting on a fake smile . . . changing the tone of their voice . . . or talking too much about how great the gift looks.

And this is amusing:  More than half of the people in the survey say they’re GREAT at concealing their disappointment if it’s something they don’t like . . . and also, more than half of the people in the survey can tell “right away” when others dislike a gift.
