1. Radio is helping to spread the word! A Navy veteran in Maryland named Springer Blankenship signed up to volunteer for a group called “I Want to Mow Your Lawn” after hearing about it on the radio.
It’s a grassroots organization that deploys volunteers to mow lawns across the country . . . for free . . . to help older adults, people with disabilities, and anyone in need. Springer has now mowed over 100 lawns. “I Want to Mow Your Lawn” is accepting volunteers and donations.
2. The world’s largest 3-D-printed NEIGHBORHOOD is nearing completion in Texas. 3-D-printing homes is faster, less expensive, requires fewer workers, and minimizes construction material waste. And they are VERY sturdy.
The homes actually aren’t “cookie cutter” in the way you’d expect, but you do sacrifice a little CHARM. One buyer says, “It feels like a fortress . . . it kinda gives you the feeling of being in a cinderblock. In a cozy way.” (???) (Here’s video.)
3. An Indian entrepreneur is using sugar, cellulose, and corn waste to make millions of plastic-like bags for small businesses. But unlike plastic, these bags decompose within 180 days.
